Senior Bowl Returns with a Bang
For the first time since 2019, the Senior Bowl High School All-Star Game returned to the football field as it had for 30 years prior to the pandemic.
Officials with Football Alberta say the result was a fantastic game which saw the North come back twice in the last minute of play at both the half and fourth quarter to score their only two TD’s of the game and win 16-13 in overtime.
The South was full measure for the challenge, however, blocking the extra point on the TD scored by Max Taylor from Bellerose in St. Albert from the North with 30 seconds left in the game to preserve a 13-13 tie.
Overtime proved to be the key to the North win as on their second round, Austin O’Brien’s Aaron Demerchant hit a 23 yard FG. The South came up empty on their second attempt and the game was the North’s 14th win in the series to the South’s 16.
