Rebels ready for busy draft week
It’s a busy week for the Red Deer Rebels as the club continues to build for the future through a pair of upcoming drafts.
On Wednesday, May 18, 2022, the Rebels will take part in the 2022 WHL U.S. Priority Draft. The Rebels own the 14th and 31st overall selections in the two-round draft.
At the 2021 WHL U.S. Priority Draft on December 8, 2021, the Rebels selected defenceman and California native Quentin Bourne with the eighth overall pick. Bourne has since signed a WHL Standard Player Agreement with the club. The Rebels also selected Texas forward Jonah Jasser 37th overall.
Elsewhere, team officials say the Rebels currently own the 17th overall selection in the first round of Thursday’s 2022 WHL Prospects Draft.
