RCMP respond to incident in West Park neighbourhood

UPDATE #2:

Local Mounties say charges are pending after officers were called to a residence in Red Deer’s West Park neighbourhood Saturday night.

Around 10:00 p.m. on May 14, 2022, Red Deer RCMP responded to complaints of an assault in the West Park neighbourhood. Police located the suspect in the garage of a residence, where he allegedly refused to exit.

After being granted a warrant, police say members entered the building and arrested a 48-year-old male without incident.

RCMP say no further information will be released.

May 14 — The police incident is now over. The RCMP would like to thank the public for their assistance.

May 14 — Red Deer RCMP advised at 10:40 p.m. on Saturday night that they are responding to an incident in the West Park neighbourhood.

“The incident is contained to a residence and there is no threat to the public. RCMP ask that the public stay clear of the area,” RCMP say in a release. “RCMP ask the public to refrain from posting photos of involved officers on social media until the incident is over.”
