10-15 cm of snow expected

Snowfall Warning issued for Red Deer region

Apr 19, 2022 | 9:24 AM

Meteorologists with Environment and Climate Change Canada say heavy snowfall with total accumulations of 10 to 15 cm is expected Tuesday night.

Snow mixed with rain is forecast to begin Tuesday morning and continue into the afternoon. The mixed precipitation is expected to transition to snow early Tuesday evening as temperatures cool. Heavy snowfall, however, will end on Wednesday morning.

Officials say to prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in the heavy snow. If visibility is reduced while driving, you’re encouraged to slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop.
