204 Units Sold Last Month

Local home sales trending upward

Home sales in Red Deer continued their upward trend in the month of March.

According to the latest market update from Central Alberta Realtors Association (CARA), there were 204 units sold in Red Deer in March, up from 175 units sold in February and 186 units sold in March of last year.

Year-to-date home sales are also higher, with 503 units sold in Red Deer during the first three months of 2022, up from 422 units sold over the first quarter of 2021.

Meantime, the average sale price in Red Deer in March was $335,585. That’s down from $338,269 in February, but up from $328,624 in March 2021.

The average number of days to sell a home in Red Deer last month was 47, well below 64 days in February and 54 in March of last year.

For the entire central Alberta market, 680 units were sold in March. That’s up from 457 units sold in February, and 647 units sold in March 2021.

Year-to-date home sales for the entire central Alberta market show 1,455 units sold during the first three months of this year, down slightly from 1,430 units sold at the same point last year.

Meantime, the average sale price of a home sold throughout the entire central Alberta market last month was $362,484. That’s up from $350,635 in February, and $339,994 in March 2021.

The average number of days to sell a home throughout the entire central Alberta market last month was 61. That compares to 74 days in February and 85 days in March of last year.
