Multiple traffic disruptions planned in Red Deer next week

CORRECTION – The City announced April 29 a correction to the traffic disruption listed below (see in bold)

Red Deer drivers are being advised of a road closure at the 54 Avenue and 60 Street intersection.

The intersection will be closed from 7:00 a.m. on Monday, April 18 until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 20 (not Thursday, April 28) as crews complete water and sewer replacements in the area. A detour will be set up using 51 Avenue, 57 Avenue, Horn Street and 59 Street.

Drivers and pedestrians are reminded to obey all traffic signs and to slow down in construction zones.

Red Deer drivers are being advised of a traffic disruption on 77 Street between Gaetz (50) Avenue and 40 Avenue/Riverside Drive next week as crews work to replace a culvert in the area.

Construction will begin at 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 19 and is expected to be complete by 7:00 pm. On Friday, April 22.

Following the culvert work, crews will begin constructing a new sidewalk/trail on 77 Street between Gaetz Avenue and 40 Avenue/Riverside Drive and partial lane closures will be in place until approximately June 30.
