20-year vision

City creating new master plan for River Bend, wants your input

The City of Red Deer is developing a new 20-year site vision for River Bend Golf and Recreational Area, and wants your feedback.

Working alongside the River Bend Golf and Recreation Society, the 20-year vision is to be part of a greater Master Plan for the area, which will also identify guiding principles and actionable strategies to optimize the site with community benefit in mind.

The City says its plan will identify trends in sport, recreation, the natural environment, and consider new and emerging needs, interests and opportunities.

“River Bend is one of many outstanding nodes in our Waskasoo Park System that truly creates that ‘City in a park’ feel in our community,” says Sarah Tittemore, Community Services General Manager. “As we work to develop a long-term future vision for golf and non-golf activities and infrastructure, we want to hear from residents about their aspirations for the future of the area.”

Residents can provide their input through an online survey or one of three virtual workshops:

The survey and workshop registration information are available at www.reddeer.ca/riverbend. The survey closes on May 6, 2022.

There will also be further opportunity for public input on the draft plan in the late summer, the City says.
