April 11 council meeting

Red Deer city council considering Tax Rate Bylaw on Monday

Apr 10, 2022 | 8:00 AM

Red Deer city council will be discussing its tax rate bylaw at their next meeting this Monday.

On April 11, administration is recommending city council give all three readings to a Tax Rate Bylaw.

The bylaw sets the rates for collecting taxes to support the city’s 2022 budget, recently approved with a zero per cent tax revenue increase for the year.

Monday’s meeting also includes consideration of the Business Improvement Area (BIA) Tax Rate Bylaw. The BIA bylaw applies to taxable businesses in the downtown and funds the Downtown Business Association (DBA) budget. The DBA budget was approved by council in December.
