RDP Athletics recap: Queens Hockey take commanding lead in ACAC final

GAME 1 – Queens Hockey | ACAC Championship | Friday, March 18 | Gary W. Harris Canada Games Centre

The first place Red Deer Polytechnic Queens defeated the third seed Olds College Broncos 2-1 in game one of the best-of-five ACAC Championship series. Spruce Grove’s Natalie Buttle and Prince Albert’s Alli Soyko scored for the Queens. First-year goaltender Tanya Disotell-Dunsmore played extremely well, turning aside 17-of-18 shots (0.944).

GAME 2 – Queens Hockey | ACAC Championship | Sunday, March 20 | Olds

The Red Deer Polytechnic Queens blanked the Broncos 4-0 in game two of the best-of-five final. Kiera Mulder, Jailyn Bablitz, Soyko and Monica Bowell found the back of the net for the Polytechnic. Queens goalie Madison Fox, a Bachelor of Science Nursing student, was tremendous in net, making 24 saves.
