Home sales activity picking up in Red Deer

Red Deer home sales are on the rise so far in 2022.

According to the latest market update from Central Alberta Realtors Association (CARA), there were 195 units sold in Red Deer last month. That’s up from 132 units sold in January and 136 units sold in February 2021.

Year-to-date home sales are also higher than last year, with 327 units sold in Red Deer during the first two months of 2022, up from 236 units sold over the first two months of 2021.

Meantime, the average sale price in Red Deer in February was $346,119. That’s down from $352,646 in January and $352,106 in February 2021.

The average number of days to sell a home in Red Deer last month was 70. That compares to 74 days in January and just 48 days in February of last year.

For the entire central Alberta market, 458 units were sold in February. That’s up from 319 units sold in January, and 451 units sold in February 2021.

Year-to-date home sales for the entire central Alberta market show 777 units sold during the first two months of this year, down slightly from 783 units sold at the same point last year.

Meantime, the average sale price of a home sold throughout the entire central Alberta market last month was $317,000. That’s up from $305,750 in January, but down from $342,240 in February 2021.

The average number of days to sell a home throughout the entire central Alberta market last month was 75. That compares to 79 days in January and 82 days in February of last year.
