Congratulations are going out to the Red Deer Radisson Chiefs U13 Tier 2 hockey team who battled hard to win the U13 Tier 2 Red Championship in the Central Alberta Hockey League.

Team officials say the Chiefs placed first in their tier, earning a bye in the first round of playoffs.

It took all three games in the best of three second round series, however, to defeat the Rocky Mountain Athletic Association and send the Chiefs to the final round versus Stettler.

It was a packed house in Red Deer on Sunday, March 13, to witness Red Deer win a 2-1 thriller over Stettler to take home the banner.

Team officials say their continued success is thanks to the players’ hard work and dedication. The team is led by head coach Curtis Lansing and assistant coaches Trent Hunter, Casey Setters and Dave Soloway.

The Red Deer Radisson Chiefs season continues with two away games in playdowns this upcoming weekend against Innisfail and Okotoks to determine who moves on to the Provincial Championships from March 31-April 3, 2022.
