Xplore Sport Day is serving Red Deer this spring

Xplore Sport Day, Red Deer’s annual celebration of sport, is ready to serve Red Deer once again this year.

The event is scheduled for Saturday, May 7, at Capstone (Canada 150 Square) from 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. The City of Red Deer is seeking applications from local sport groups interested in participating.

In the spirit of sport, Xplore will also be taking place in conjunction with the annual Red Deer PCN Fun Run with the Primary Care Network, raising funds of the Central Alberta Child Advocacy Centre.

In a statement, The City said, “After a brief pause due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Red Deer is once again looking to bring together Red Deer’s local sport organizations with the community.”

Xplore Sport Day offers Red Deerians of all ages opportunities to try out a variety of sport and recreation activities available in the city. An open house format, the event features information sessions, demonstrations and interactive activities presented by local sport organizations. Guests are encouraged to check out the displays, participate in demos and learn about new activities for themselves and family members.

Sport groups interested in participating are asked to submit a completed application form by Sunday, April 3 that indicates the type of presence they would like to have at the event (display booth, demonstration or interactive activity).
