Another MLA is representing Alberta at a second energy conference in the United States this week.

Tracy Allard, MLA for Grande Prairie, is promoting Alberta’s energy sector at the Energy Council Federal Meeting in Washington D.C., from March 8-11.

The province states the conference is an opportunity to highlight the reliability and safety of Alberta’s energy products, as well as the importance of the province’s energy sector to North American and global energy security.

In a statement, the government of Alberta said, “MLA Allard will develop, renew and strengthen Alberta’s relations with U.S. federal partners as well as gather market insight.”

She is also scheduled to discuss Alberta’s responsible approach to energy development, including regulatory expertise and investment opportunities in carbon capture, utilization and storage, and potential in hydrogen and critical and rare earth minerals.

The Energy Council is an organization of elected legislators from 14 energy-producing states in the U.S., Alberta and Saskatchewan.

Mission expenses will be posted on the travel and expense disclosure page.
