Mar 7, 2022 | 10:02 AM

Trial dates have been set for three people charged in a series of incidents in Penhold last year that saw RCMP seize nearly two dozen guns, drugs and other items.

Jordan Kyle Glasgow, 21, of Penhold, Casey Ronald Laprise, 33, of no fixed address, and Amber Parfitt, 37, of Olds, are scheduled to go to trial from Dec. 13-16 in Red Deer provincial court.

The trio face several criminal charges following their arrests in central Alberta last November.

RCMP say it was about 5 a.m. on Nov. 30, 2021, when Innisfail detachment members observed a person known to them allegedly violate his court-imposed conditions by leaving his home in Penhold, and leave in a vehicle.

With assistance from Blackfalds detachment, a traffic stop was conducted on Hwy 2A leaving Penhold.

Three occupants in the vehicle were located allegedly in possession of two firearms. The vehicle and guns were seized, and the occupants, two males and one female, were arrested, police say.

Search warrants were then executed on the Penhold home, as well as the vehicle, with assistance provided by the Southern Alberta Crime Reduction Unit (SACRU), Forensic Identification Section (FIS), and the National Weapons Enforcement Support Team (NWEST), along with Blackfalds and Innisfail ITU.

A total of 21 firearms, prohibited and non-restricted, were seized, along with silver coins, collectable currency, and suspected meth and drug paraphernalia.

Jordan Glasgow, Casey Laprise, and Amber Parfitt, have been jointly charged with numerous offences:

  • Possess firearm in vehicle (x2)

  • Possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace (x2)
  • Possession of stolen property over $5000 (x2)
