Natural Ice Surfaces Remain Open

Outdoor rinks and pond surfaces to close for the season

Mar 4, 2022 | 3:19 PM

Effective Mar. 4, all remaining outdoor rinks in the city of Red Deer will close for the season.

City officials add, however, that natural ice surfaces at Bower Ponds, Anders and Westlake are thick enough to remain open until Friday, Mar. 11. Residents are reminded to exercise caution on natural ice surfaces as warmer temperatures can weaken the ice surface.

The Ice Oval at Setters Place will remain open for public skating until Monday, Mar. 14, weather permitting.

Check the website at www.reddeer.ca/settersplace for up-to-date information on the Ice Oval.
