Lacombe man wins 250K, WCLC seeking March 2, 2021 winner

A Lacombe man is $250,000 richer after a sweet lotto win.

Robert Popick played the EXTRA on his Lotto Max ticket purchased for the Jan. 28, 2022 draw. He bought it at the Rexall in Lacombe, and wound up checking his ticket shortly after the draw.

“I was pretty surprised,” he said while claiming his prize. “I had to scan my ticket a second time before I started believing it.”

Popick has no solid plans as of yet, but a vacation is likely in the cards, he says.

Popick’s matching digits were 2500473.

The AGLC and Western Canada Lottery Corporation are also seeking the winner of a Lotto Max and EXTRA win from March 2, 2021. They say a ticket purchased in Calgary for that draw won somebody $100,000, but it hasn’t yet been claimed.
