New exhibit at Kiwanis Gallery celebrates ‘Shiny Things’
Like a crow to a glittering bauble, many of us are attracted to things that shine. Our visual arts members were asked to think about what shines in their lives, and they produced a wide variety of interpretations in this new juried exhibition, Shiny Things.
Whether something that produces its own light or brilliantly reflects beams from another source, the subjects of the works were highly creative and beautifully executed. Shiny objects can be challenging to render in paint, but our jurors found many outstanding works to include in this show. We enjoy the diversity that results when our visual art community is given free rein to interpret and imagine.
Red Deer Arts Council is pleased to present Shiny Things: Red Deer Arts Council Visual Arts Members Juried Exhibit which runs from March 1 to May 1, 2022, in the Kiwanis Gallery in the Red Deer Public Library.
First Friday Red Deer Opening: March 4 from 5:30 to 7:30 pm
