Plane crashes west of Innisfail, no one hurt

Luckily, no one was injured in a plane crash Friday afternoon in central Alberta.

Innisfail RCMP say they responded just after 2 p.m. to Glennifer Lake — about 22 km west of town — for a reported plane crash.

There they discovered a plane on the ice and snow-covered lake near Range Road 30. The lone occupant was unharmed.

Recovery efforts are underway to remove the plane from the ice, police say.

They add that the circumstances surrounding the unintentional landing are not criminal in nature and the investigation has concluded.
