Woman sentenced in central Alberta beating, kidnapping and robbery incident
A woman charged in a central Alberta beating, kidnapping and robbery incident has been sentenced to six years in jail.
Amber Loretta Knickle, 22, was convicted of robbery with a firearm and kidnapping/confinement with a firearm in Wetaskiwin provincial court on Feb. 3, and sentenced to six years in prison, while also being handed a lifetime firearms prohibition.
She was given credit, however, for 631 days of pre-trial custody, leaving her with 1,559 days left to serve starting Feb. 3.
Meantime, two additional counts of robbery with a firearm and assault were withdrawn.
