Red Deer average rents remain affordable, says National Rent Report

Average rents in the city of Red Deer continue to remain affordable.

That according to publishers of the latest National Rent Report released by Rentals.ca last week.

The report indicates Red Deer came in 30th on the list for average monthly rent in January for a one-bedroom home at $975 and next to last (34th) for average monthly rent for a two-bedroom at $1,064.

Elsewhere in Alberta, Calgary finished 26th on the list of 35 cities for average monthly rent in January for a one-bedroom home at $1,244 and for average monthly rent for a two-bedroom at $1,525.

Fort McMurray came in 28th on the list for average monthly rent in January for a one-bedroom home at $1,062 and for average monthly rent for a two-bedroom at $1,275.

Edmonton finished 29th on the list for average monthly rent in January for a one-bedroom home at $1,019 and for average monthly rent for a two-bedroom at $1,275.

Grande Prairie finished 34th on the list for average monthly rent in January for a one-bedroom home at $898 and 33rd for average monthly rent for a two-bedroom at $1,097.

Lloydminster came in last on the list for average monthly rent in January for a one-bedroom home at $740 and for average monthly rent for a two-bedroom at $854.

Vancouver has the most expensive rents in the country for all property types at $2,550 per month, an annual increase of 16.2 per cent year over year.

Toronto was the next most expensive city at $2,317 per month, experiencing an annual increase of 14.5 per cent.
