Red Deer Polytechnic resumes increased learning and service delivery in-person

Feb 16, 2022 | 4:40 PM

Red Deer Polytechnic officials have announced the institution will continue its Winter Term by welcoming more students, faculty and staff to resume additional in-person course and service delivery starting Monday, February 28.

“We are appreciative of our faculty members who continue to demonstrate their dedication and ability to quickly adapt and deliver quality programming in a variety of ways for our students,” says Kylie Thomas, Vice President, Academic and Provost. “We look forward to welcoming more learners back on campus as they truly add to the vibrancy of Red Deer Polytechnic. With that comes more opportunities for increased face-to-face interactions with peers and instructors, which will help to continue to grow the entire Polytechnic community.”

With the health and safety of students, faculty, staff and visitors as a continued priority for the institution, officials say several COVID-19 health and safety protocols will remain in place (as required or strongly encouraged) for the duration of the Winter 2022 Term.

Starting Mar. 1, following the government’s phased approach to easing public health measures, Red Deer Polytechnic will also adapt its COVID-19 health and safety protocols. Implementation timing at RDP will shift in accordance with any updates the government may make.

Following the government’s announcement from last week, Red Deer Polytechnic has determined that its vaccination program will end as of Feb. 27. View full details about the institution’s decision, and timeline, regarding its vaccination program.

“We understand that the COVID-19 pandemic has been trying for many of our students, faculty and staff. We appreciate their patience as they’ve continued to adapt to the dynamic situation presented to all of us,” says Jim Brinkhurst, Interim President. “We appreciate everyone’s diligence continuing to comply with our institution’s protocols, and with public health measures, as we look forward to safely increase the number of people at our campuses and learning centres during the coming weeks.”
