VACCINATIONS

According to Alberta Health, today Alberta surpassed 3.4 million Albertans aged 12 and older with at least one dose of vaccine, equivalent to 90 per cent of that demographic.

86.3 per cent of Albertans 12 and older have received two doses.

More than 226,000 pediatric vaccine have been given to those aged 5-11.

“My thanks go out to the Albertans who have stepped up to get immunized,” says Health Minister Jason Copping. “Every dose administered not only protects individuals but also our communities at large and the capacity of our health-care system. It’s also important to follow up with a second dose when you’re eligible to ensure the best possible protection for yourself and others.”

Albertans aged 18 and older who have specific immunocompromising conditions are eligible to receive a fourth dose five months after their third dose.
