Sundre RCMP seek public’s assistance in identifying theft suspects

Feb 9, 2022 | 4:28 PM

RCMP are hoping you can help them identify a pair of suspects wanted in connection with the theft of over two dozen trail cameras and salt blocks in Alberta’s west country.

On Feb. 6, Sundre RCMP were notified of a theft of 30 trail cameras and nine salt blocks in the Williams Creek Road area that had occurred just days earlier.

Images captured on trail cameras show that on Feb. 3, two suspects on snowmobiles attended the Williams Creek Road/Valley area around 1 p.m. and left the area around 6 p.m.

It is believed the snowmobiles were loaded onto a vehicle or trailer at a pull-out in the area of Kilometre 1 of the Williams Creek Road.

Mounties say all of the stolen cameras were Gardepro A3s Trail Game Cameras, green and black in colour, with a total value of $6000.

Between Sept.1, 2021 and Oct. 8, 2021, police say 10 Gardepro A3s Trail Game Cameras were also stolen from the same area with a total value of $2000. The investigation was unable to identify a suspect at that time.

Suspect 1 was operating a black snowmobile and wearing a grey/black helmet, red hoodie underneath the helmet, a grey/brown coloured jacket, and yellow gloves.

Suspect 2 was operating a red and black snowmobile and was wearing a yellow/white helmet, and a black snowmobile jacket with some red writing on the back.

Sundre RCMP are asking for the public’s help with any information in relation to this incident or identifying those responsible. Please contact Sundre RCMP at 403-638-3675 or your local police.
