Red Deer city facilities end Restrictions Exemption Program
Starting today, Red Deer city facilities are no longer operating the Restrictions Exemption Program, meaning proof of vaccination, negative test result or medical exemption are not required for entry.
On Feb. 8, the provincial government announced a three-step plan to ease public health measures.
As well, it was announced there would be changes to mandatory masking requirements as follows:
- Until February 14, existing masking requirements remain in place: all visitors over the age of 2 are required to wear a mask, unless participating in a physical activity.
- As of February 14, children under 12 will not be required to wear masks in City facilities. Visitors ages 12 and up will be required to wear a mask, unless participating in a physical activity. Further masking requirements may be announced as part of the second stage of the provincial plan.
- All staff will continue to wear masks, except while alone in work stations.
