WHL announces pausing of team activities for Lethbridge Hurricanes
The Western Hockey League has announced the pausing of team activities for the Lethbridge Hurricanes as a result of 14 players being on the WHL COVID-19 Protocol List due to exhibiting symptoms or having tested positive for COVID-19.
The WHL is working in consultation with the WHL Chief Medical Officer regarding the matter concerning the Lethbridge Hurricanes. At this time, the Lethbridge Hurricanes have paused all team activities, including on-ice practices and off-ice training, pending further test results. Officials say the WHL will provide further information when it is available.
As a result of the Lethbridge Hurricanes pausing team activities, the following WHL regular season games have been postponed and will be rescheduled at a later date:
- Saturday, Jan. 1 – Lethbridge at Calgary
- Sunday, Jan. 2 – Swift Current at Lethbridge
