Town Council supports Ponoka & District Health Foundation with $3,500 donation

Dec 22, 2021 | 1:45 PM

Ponoka Town Council recently approved a $3,500 donation to support the Ponoka & District Health Foundation’s ‘Greatest Need’ Fund from the Council Advertising Budget.

Town officials note the donation will help support the purchase of a jaundice metre, material fetal monitor, breast pump and a portable x-ray machine for the Ponoka Hospital and Care Centre.

In past years, the Town of Ponoka has supported the Health Foundation’s fundraising efforts by sponsoring the Festival of Trees, Breakfast with Santa, Snowmuch Family Fun Day and in 2020, the Town made a donation of $3,500 for the renovations of the tub room at the Ponoka Hospital and Care Centre.

However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Ponoka Festival of Trees event has been cancelled for the past two years.
