NOVA raises $837,000 for United Way Central Alberta

Dec 4, 2021 | 11:34 AM

United Way Central Alberta (UWCA) is celebrating two massive donations from NOVA Chemicals.

The first is for $160,000, which NOVA is giving to help bridge the gap for UWCA-supported agencies struggling to meet budgets during the pandemic.

The second is for $677,000, raised by NOVA employees through its Virtual Family-Fun Workplace Campaign.

The funding will help several programs supported by United Way Central Alberta.

“NOVA Chemicals employees continue to be the heart of our campaign,” said Mark Hodson, VP of Manufacturing West. “And, we are proud to continue our NOVA matching funds this year.”

Adds Brett Speight, UWCA CEO: “Every year, NOVA Chemicals and NOVA Chemicals Joffre employees’ support for the community through their annual United Way Campaign is astonishing. Their generous support impacts tens of thousands of individuals every year and we could not accomplish the impact we do without their generous support.”

UWCA launched its most recent fundraising campaign in September.
