Cilantro and Chive made its latest Burger of the Month donations this week.

From its Lacombe location, $786 is going to Central Alberta Youth Unlimited, while the Red Deer location raised $1,278 for the Blackfalds Bulldogs Community Foundation.

Each month, $2 from the sale of each feature burger goes to the monthly guest chef’s charity of choice.

At Youth Unlimited, funds will support counselling sessions for youth and young moms. Youth Unlimited has staff in seven communities, including Lacombe, Red Deer, Sylvan Lake, Ponoka, Maskwacis, Rimbey and Crestomere.

As for the recently established Bulldogs Foundation, funding will support its vision of identifying and addressing community needs. The team says its currently working with several community partners on projects.

For the month of December, the Burger of the Month is the ‘Holy Moly’ presented by guest chef Edna Mcleod, who has chosen the Lacombe Food Bank to benefit.

In Red Deer, the ‘Lone Star,’ created by guest chef Savanna Snow, will help the Student’s Association Food Bank at Red Deer Polytechnic.
