Red Deer down to 132 active cases of COVID-19

CENTRAL ZONE

Red Deer has 132 active cases of COVID-19, down 13 from Wednesday.

Meantime, recoveries in Red Deer rose by 15 to 9,162, as the total number of COVID-19 cases attributed to Red Deer rose by two in the last day to 9,375.

Red Deer’s death toll stemming from COVID-19 remains 81, with the last one reported Nov. 16.

The Central Zone as a whole has 712 active cases as of Thursday, down 48 in the last day.

There are 101 hospitalizations, down three, and nine people are receiving intensive care at Red Deer Regional Hospital, the same as yesterday.

Central Zone has recorded 396 deaths, though none reported in the last day.

PROVINCIAL NUMBERS

The active caseload is now 4,969, down 64 from Wednesday. This with the province adding 379 new cases of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours.

With 9,604 tests conducted over the past 24 hours, the seven-day positivity rate is 5.03 per cent.

There are 465 people currently in hospital with COVID-19, down five from Wednesday, with 98 of those patients in ICU, up one from yesterday.

Of the 367 not in ICU, 236 are unvaccinated, 21 have had one dose, and 102 have had two doses. Another 14 have had three doses.

Of the 98 in ICU, 77 are unvaccinated, five have had one dose, and 13 have had two doses. Another two have had three doses.

There was one additional deaths reported to Alberta Health in the last 24 hours, bringing the province’s death toll from the virus now to 3,232.

VACCINATIONS

Alberta has delivered 6,825,144 vaccine doses as of Nov. 24, up 8,877 in the last day.

88.5 per cent of Alberta’s eligible 12+ population has received at least one dose (75.3% total population), and 83.5 per cent of those eligible are fully vaccinated (71.0% total population).

A total of 357,747 people have received three doses, up 3,221.

In Red Deer, 73,970 (80.7% of eligible & 69.5% *total population) people have received at least one dose, up 36. Meanwhile, 70,265 (76.6%/66.0%) are fully vaccinated with two doses, up 105. (*Government of Alberta uses a population of 106,395 for Red Deer; of those 91,672 are eligible)
