Central Alberta Child Advocacy Centre 50/50 lottery returns

Nov 24, 2021 | 10:47 AM

The Central Alberta Child Advocacy Centre has launched the latest edition of its 50/50 Cash Lottery.

With a jackpot set at $400,000, plus four early-bird draws worth $1,000 each, the lottery will raise much-needed funds to support service and programs which help some of the community’s most vulnerable.

Annually, the CACAC supports hundreds of children from across central Alberta who are experiencing abuse, providing a safe space for each child to share their story and avoid revictimization en route to healing.

“Through the Loyalty campaign, we’ve been able to raise over $100,000 already! The success of last years’ lottery allowed us to help more children and families from across central Alberta. To date, we’ve helped nearly 1,800 children, and our advocacy team has worked tirelessly to protect and support the youths that come forward,” says Mark Jones, CEO.

“From disclosure to triage and court appearances, our advocacy team has been working around the clock. This year has been especially difficult, with October and November being some of the busiest months with the most extreme and complex cases we have yet to see. So, we hope people will consider buying a ticket to help us help these kids.”

Tickets, which start at $10, are available at cacac5050.ca or by calling 587-272-2233 (lottery license number 578482).

The deadline to purchase tickets is Feb. 10, 2022, at 11 a.m. Early bird deadlines are Dec. 2, 9, 16 and 23.

You can also contact 587-272-2233 or email jjamieson@centralalbertacac.ca if you’re interested in helping sell tickets.
