Central Albertans are being invited to help kick-off the Holiday Season by taking part in this year’s annual Festival of Trees at Westerner Park in Red Deer.

Events include the Tree Room & Silent Auction which will be open for virtual and in-person viewing starting Saturday, Nov. 20.

CHRISTMAS MARKET

Organizers encourage you to be sure to stop by the Christmas Market in the Tree Room where you’ll find take-home crafts for kids and a great selection of Christmas gifts, sweets, and trinkets.

Candy Cane Lane and the Gift Shop will return in their entirety in 2022.

ONLINE BIDDING

Online registration for bidding will begin Nov. 20. Check back here of a link to register.

SPECIAL EVENTS

Preview Dinner, Festival of Wines, and Mistletoe Magic will return in November 2022.

Officials say funds raised through Festival sponsorships and activities will be used for critically needed equipment in the operating room at Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre to help provide a higher level of service to Central Albertans.

Red Deer Hospital serves over 500,000 people, and approximately 150 surgical procedures are completed each week at the facility, including general surgery, gynecological surgery and endoscopy. As the only referral centre in the Central Zone, Red Deer Hospital handles some of the most complex operating room procedures.

Officials say Red Deer Festival of Trees 2021 is dedicated to providing funding for critical operating room equipment. Having access to new and replacement equipment for the OR is anticipated to improve the patient experience and reduce wait times for life-saving surgeries, allowing our friends and family to remain close to home during their procedures.
