Red Deer RCMP investigate photo of firearm sent to students

On Nov. 18, at approximately 2:04 p.m., Red Deer RCMP were notified by Hunting Hills High School of a photo that was sent to students of an individual holding what was believed to be a firearm.
Red Deer RCMP are currently on scene at Hunting Hills High School to investigate this incident and to ensure staff and student safety.
Although there are no known threats or messaging, Red Deer RCMP say they take threats like these very seriously and will investigate thoroughly, noting such threats can have a significant impact on students, staff, families and the community’s feeling of safety and mental wellbeing.
Red Deer RCMP are asking anyone who knows who sent the photo to students or who has any information in relation to this investigation, to contact Red Deer RCMP at 403-343-5575.
