Average home sale prices trending upward in Red Deer

The number of home sales in Red Deer last month was the highest seen for October in the past four years.

According to the latest market report from Central Alberta Realtors Association, there were 132 units sold in the city last month, down from 161 units sold in September, but up from 116 units sold in October 2020.

That also compares to 101 units sold in October 2019, and 107 units sold in October 2018.

Year-to-date numbers show 1,667 units sold in Red Deer so far this year, up significantly from 1,056 units sold to this point in 2020.

The average sale price in Red Deer last month was $338,531. That’s up from $336,828 in September and $327,403 in October of last year.

The average number of days to sell a home in Red Deer last month was 54. That’s down from 58 days in September and 67 days in October 2020.

Throughout the entire Central Alberta market, 439 units were sold in October. That’s down from 496 units sold in September, but up from 412 in the same month last year.

Year-to-date numbers show 5,794 units sold throughout the region so far this year, way up from 3,653 units sold during the first 10 months of 2020.

The average sale price in Central Alberta last month was $345,878. That’s down dramatically from $429,931 in September, but up from $325,171 in October of last year.

The average number of days to sell a home in Central Alberta last month was 93. That compares to 60 days in September and 95 days in October 2020.
