Red Deer remains with 193 active cases of COVID-19, adds one new death

There are still 193 active cases of COVID-19 in Red Deer, the same as Friday.

Statistics published on Monday reveal recoveries increased by 30 to 9,001, with the total number of cases identified in the city since the start of the pandemic now being 9,273 – up 31 over the past three days.

Red Deer’s active case rate is currently 181.4 per 100k, which compares to a rate of 87.4 in Calgary, 72.9 in Edmonton, and 156.0 in Lethbridge.

The number of COVID-related deaths in Red Deer increased by one over the past three days to 79.

CENTRAL ZONE

The Central Zone as a whole now has 991 active cases as of Monday, down 17 from Friday. There are 112 hospitalizations, down six from Friday, with eight people receiving intensive care at Red Deer Regional Hospital, down one from Friday.

The Central Zone has had 380 deaths linked to COVID-19, with five more reported since Friday.

Elsewhere, the Calgary Zone has 1,848 active cases of COVID-19, the Edmonton Zone 1,249, the North Zone 1,213, the South Zone 521, and six additional cases in unconfirmed locations.

PROVINCIAL NUMBERS

Across Alberta, another 1,068 new cases of COVID-19 were identified over the past three days (429 Nov. 12, 353 Nov. 13, and 286 Nov. 14) for an average of 356 per day.

This brings the total number of active cases in the province now to 5,828 – up 83 from Friday.

With 21,752 tests conducted over the past three days, the province’s test positivity rate is roughly 4.9 per cent.

There are 1,743 active variant cases in the province or 29.9 per cent of all active cases.

There are 519 Albertans currently in hospital with COVID-19, down 35 from Friday, with 100 of those patients in ICU, down 10 from Friday.

There have been 17 new deaths reported to Alberta Health since November 11, bringing the virus’ death toll in our province now to 3,188.

VACCINATIONS

As of Nov. 14, a total of 6,717,007 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Alberta, up 30,420 over the past three days.

Across the province, 87.8 per cent of eligible Albertans aged 12+ have received at least one dose (74.7% total population), with 82.2 per cent of those eligible now fully vaccinated (69.9% total population).

In Red Deer, 73,431 (80.1% of eligible & 69.0% *total population) people have received at least one dose, up 126 over the past three days.

Meanwhile, 69,155 (75.4%/64.9%) are fully vaccinated with two doses, up 377 over the past three days.
