Red Deer with 234 active cases of COVID-19

The Central Zone as a whole has 1,170 active cases as of Monday, up 31 from Friday. There are 121 hospitalizations, down 13, with 11 people receiving intensive care at Red Deer Regional Hospital, down two.

The Central Zone has had 371 deaths linked to COVID-19, with three reported over the past three days.

PROVINCIAL NUMBERS

Across Alberta, another 1,300 new cases of COVID-19 were announced on Monday (586 Nov. 5,430 Nov. 6, 284 Nov. 7) for an average of over 433 per day over the last three days.

That brings the total number of active cases in the province now to 6,387 – up one from Friday.

With 25,987 tests conducted over the last three days, the province’s test positivity rate is roughly five per cent.

There are 2,522 active variant cases in the province or 39.4 per cent of all active cases.

There have been 13 additional deaths reported to Alberta Health since Nov. 4, bringing the total number of deaths in the province due to COVID-19 to 3,155.

VACCINATIONS

As of Nov. 8, a total of 6,631,562 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered, up 25,158 over the last three days.

Across the province, 87.5 per cent of eligible Albertans aged 12+ have received at least one dose (74.4% total population), with 81.2 per cent of those eligible now fully vaccinated (69.1% total population).

In Red Deer, 73,068 (79.7% of eligible & 68.6% *total population) people have received at least one dose, up 161 in the last three days.

Meanwhile, 68,244 (74.4%/64.1%) are fully vaccinated with two doses, up 505 over the last three days.
