Innisfail RCMP arrest wanted Edmonton man

A 38-year-old man from Edmonton is facing numerous charges following his arrest in Innisfail.

At about 11 p.m. on Halloween, police say, while conducting proactive patrols with town limits, members conducted a traffic stop in the 4800 Block of 50 Avenue.

It was then discovered that the driver was wanted on outstanding warrants from Edmonton Police Service.

The driver was allegedly found to be in possession of 1.1 ounces of fentanyl, 1.3 ounces of cocaine, five grams of methamphetamine, cash proceeds of crime, shotgun ammunition and a stolen .357 magnum handgun.

Christopher Wales is charged with the following:

• Possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine

• Possession for the purpose of trafficking fentanyl

• Possession for the purpose of trafficking methamphetamine

• Possession of a weapon obtained by crime

• Possession of property obtained by crime

• Possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle

• Careless use of a firearm

• Possession of a firearm knowing it’s possession is unauthorized

• Possession of a weapon knowing it’s possession is unauthorized

• Carrying a concealed weapon

• Possessing a firearm in an unauthorized place

• Possession of a firearm contrary to order

• Possession of ammunition contrary to order

• Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose

• Breaching release conditions (x5)

Wales will appear in Red Deer Provincial Court on Nov. 10.
