Red Deer Firefighters Calendar Launch Night

Central Albertans are being invited to take part in a special Calendar Launch Night in support of a great cause at Bo’s Bar & Stage Nov. 6.

The event aims to raise funds for the Red Deer Firefighters Children’s Charity which supports numerous projects and initiatives throughout the community, such as helping children who have difficulty accessing needs.

Event spokesperson and calendar model Brendon Laczo, says the evening will officially kick-off sales for their 2022 Red Deer Firefighters Calendar.

“We collaborate with the library and The City here and we support them with Red Deer Reading Pals every year,” he explains. “As well as recently, we assisted a local family with a specialized car seat for their child with specific disabilities and needs. We’ve also recently bought a motorized wheelchair for a family whose child had specific mobility issues due to their conditions.”

Laczo says 350 tickets are being sold for Saturday’s event at $35 apiece.

“With that, everyone gets access to the event, the calendar, and drinks supplied by Troubled Monk. 100 per cent of the proceeds from all those ticket sales go straight to the Red Deer Firefighters Children’s Charity, and then we’re going to be doing a bunch of micro-transactions,” says Laczo. “Usually in past years, the Calendar Launch Nights have raised up to about $20,000 in one night alone.”

Tickets can be purchased at Bo’s Bar & Stage in advance of the event. Doors open at 5:30 p.m..
