Red Deer RCMP investigating string of mischief incidents

Oct 28, 2021 | 8:35 AM

Red Deer RCMP are investigating a string of mischief incidents believed to be related, which occurred between the evening of Oct. 24 and the morning of Oct. 25 in the Morrisroe community.

On the morning of Oct. 25, Mounties on patrol in the Morrisroe community were called to the Annie L. Gaetz elementary school where students reported finding a broken window and an arrow located inside.

Later that morning, Red Deer RCMP received a call from a homeowner on Mitchell Ave stating they found an arrow lodged into the side of their home. Again that afternoon, RCMP were dispatched to a residence along 39 St where the homeowner found an arrow lodged into the side of their garage. All three arrows appear to have come from a compound bow.

At this time, police say there are no witnesses to the events or surveillance footage available, and no suspects have been identified. Fortunately, no one has been injured in these events.

Red Deer RCMP are asking Morrisroe residents to check their homes, as well as review surveillance footage between the hours of 6 p.m. on Oct. 24 and 8 a.m. on Oct. 25 to see if any evidence was captured of the individual(s) involved.

If you witnessed suspicious activity, or have security footage of the incident, please call Red Deer RCMP at 403-343-5575.
