The Red Deer Polytechnic Kings and Queens Soccer teams put forth solid efforts over the weekend but couldn’t drop the SAIT Trojans in the playoffs.

Here is a summary of what happened this past week:

Queens Soccer | Saturday, October 23 | SAIT Field

In rainy conditions, the Red Deer Polytechnic Queens Soccer team was defeated 3-0 by the SAIT Trojans in the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) South Division final.

First-year Sofia Quinteros, a Bachelor of Science Nursing student, was named the Queens Player of the Game.

The Queens will play the Concordia University Thunder for ACAC bronze on October 30.

Kings Soccer | Saturday, October 23 | SAIT Field

The SAIT Trojans downed the Red Deer Polytechnic Kings 3-0 in the ACAC South Division final.

Officials with RDP Athletics say there were many good performances from the Kings, including from goalkeeper Jared St. Thomas who made 10 saves. First-year defender Wataru Oguchi was named the Kings Player of the Game.

The Red Deer Polytechnic Kings and the Lakeland College Rustlers will clash for ACAC bronze on October 30.
