Sylvan Lake man sentenced in drug trafficking operation
A Sylvan Lake man has been sentenced to over four and a half years in jail for his part in a central Alberta drug trafficking operation.
Dallas Anthony Griffin, 34, was handed a 56 month sentence in Red Deer provincial court last week, after being convicted of two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a controlled substance, two counts of careless use and storage of a firearm, two counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of property over $5000, and breach of conditions.
Griffin, however, was also given credit for 31 and a half months of pre-trial custody, leaving him with 24 and a half months still to serve.
He was also given a 10 years to lifetime firearms ban, in addition to being ordered to abstain from communicating directly or indirectly with his co-accused, Emily Herman, while in custody.
