Central Alberta Pregnancy Care Centre hosting Annual Fall Fundraising Banquet – virtually

Oct 14, 2021 | 2:51 PM

The Central Alberta Pregnancy Care Centre is hosting its Red Deer Annual Fall Fundraising Banquet next week.

The event will take place virtually on Oct. 21, at 6:30 p.m. Officials say the theme of this year’s event is New Beginnings.

Attendees can learn how the Central Alberta Pregnancy Care Centre supports local communities through the programs offered, ways you can be involved, and hear the touching life story of a very special client who has benefited immensely from the Centre.

Following the presentation will be an Interactive Zoom Event & Online Silent Auction. The organization has also teamed up with Cilantro & Chive for its event. The local restaurant will be providing pre-purchased meals available via curbside pickup before the virtual event begins.

The Central Alberta Pregnancy Care Centre provides compassionate support and education to individuals and families impacted by an unexpected pregnancy and its effects. All CAPCC programs are free, confidential, and are offered in a safe and non-judgmental environment regardless of age, gender, race, or religion.

Women, men, and families can access various support programs within the Red Deer, Olds, Rocky Mountain House, Drumheller, and Stettler communities. These include pregnancy options support, male mentorship, baby and maternity clothing, post-abortion support, support for past sexual abuse/trauma, parenting programs, education on healthy relationships, and referrals for community resources.

The Red Deer location also has a maternity home for pregnant mothers and mothers and babies. It is a two-phase program offering a nurturing home, supporting healthy pregnancy and positive parenting.

The Aerie is staffed 24/7 and has the capacity for up to 11 young women and their infants. During their pregnancy, eligible residents enter phase 1 of the program and move into phase 2 when their infant is approximately six months of age. Residents who continue to meet program outcomes are invited to stay until their child is about two years of age as they continue to pursue education and/or employment endeavours while strengthening their parenting and life skills.

Every dollar counts and will provide access to much-needed support and education to those facing an unexpected pregnancy.

WAYS TO PARTICIPATE – CAPCC is looking for Event Sponsors, silent auction donations and event attendees. For more information on this event and to learn how to support the CAPCC, contact them at info@pregnancycare.ca. Additional information is available by contacting Michelle, 403-343-1611.
