Local bank recognizes mom & daughter duo for community efforts

A local mom and daughter are being recognized as part of the #TDThanksYou campaign.

The initiative recognizes those whose community contributions have enriched the lives of those around them.

Nicki Monilaws, and daughter Jayda, started with cupcake fundraisers for the Central Alberta Humane Society when the latter was in Kindergarten.

“Collectively, the duo has raised over $32,000 from various fundraising drives over the years, and with the help of her now 13-year-old daughter, Nicki has spent the pandemic working on their latest initiative – gifting goodies to teachers and frontline workers, along with care packages for people in the region experiencing homelessness,” says a release from TD.

“Nominated by Bryan Jimenez, Branch Manager at TD, Nicki received care packs to feed the homeless through the TD Thanks You campaign, including gift cards to local grocery stores and food chains to help sustain Nicki and Jayda’s momentum for the community.”
