NDP calls for Allard’s resignation, citing ‘undermining’ of vaccination campaign
The Opposition NDP is calling for the resignation of Grande Prairie MLA Tracy Allard, claiming she is intentionally undermining vaccination efforts in Alberta.
This comes after a newsletter sent by Allard to her constituents on Friday, in which the opposition party accuses Allard of defending the choice of Albertans not to get vaccinated, while also claiming the first-term MLA has downplayed capacity challenges at the QEII Hospital.
In the letter, Allard begins by stating “Alberta hospitals and ICUs are bursting at the seams”, and she thanked the “healthcare heroes” for fighting to save lives.
“It is a devastating reality and I have no words to adequately express my gratitude for those on the front lines,” Allard stated, in her letter.
