$115,000+ raised for the Canadian Foodgrains Bank
It only took about an hour for the 26th charity crop for the Central Alberta Foodgrains Growing Project (CAFGP) to get taken off.
On Sept. 25, a number of volunteers went out to the charity crop located about 10 minutes southeast of Lacombe, just north of the Prentiss landfill. They were treated to some coffee and pizza once the work was done.
Fourteen combines, a grain cart, and three grain trucks made quick work of the 120 acres of canola. In total, over $115,000 was raised this year.
