Ponoka RCMP investigate fatal hit and run
Ponoka RCMP are asking for the public’s help in locating a suspect vehicle and identifying its driver, following a fatal hit and run southeast of Ponoka early Friday morning.
On Sept. 24 at 5:43 a.m. Ponoka RCMP were dispatched to a single motor vehicle collision involving an adult male who was riding a motorcycle and struck a deer.
The motorcyclist had been travelling southbound on Highway 815 just south of Highway 604/Township Road 420, when he struck the deer. Mounties say he lost control of the motorcycle and slid on the highway. The driver came to a stop in the middle of the highway, while the motorcycle slid into the ditch.
