Man in 30s found bleeding in front of Red Deer City Hall

RCMP are investigating after a robbery and aggravated assault near Red Deer City Hall early Friday morning.

Sgt. Jay Peden says members were dispatched to assist EMS downtown at about 6 a.m. on Sept. 24.

Members found a 32-year-old male with significant injuries in front of City Hall’s east entrance, facing the courthouse.

The male was taken to hospital, but his status is unknown.

Prior to the robbery, it’s believed the victim was in possession of a tan and camouflage-coloured BMX bike (with no brakes), and a camouflage backpack.

Red Deer RCMP’s Serious Crimes Unit is investigating.
