Four Clearview Public Schools experiencing over 10 per cent illness-related absenteeism
Officials with Clearview Public Schools say five of their schools are currently experiencing over 10 per cent of students and staff being away due to medical illness.
Those schools include Big Valley School, Donalda School, Erskine School, Gus Wetter School, and Stettler Elementary School.
Officials say Donalda School experienced over 10 per cent of students and staff being away due to medical illness on Sept. 17. As a result, at present, this provides half or 50 per cent of Clearview’s regular schools now above the 10 per cent metric identified by the Alberta government for reporting to Alberta Health Services.
District officials acknowledge that individuals have reported to most schools listed that they have tested positive for COVID-19. Following the protocols from Alberta Health Services (AHS), Clearview staff will not, however, be identifying or contacting close contacts.
