Parker Thompson is having himself a season.

The 23-year-old Red Deer racing sensation pulled out his third win of the Carrera Cup North America this past weekend.

Thompson earned the win at the famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway (IMS), to boot.

Going into the weekend, Thompson held down third place in the overall standings, thanks in part to a win last month at Road America.

In Race 1 at IMS, Thompson finished second, and then piloted his #9 Porsche 992 of JDX Racing to a well-deserved victory lap in Race 2. Race 3 saw Thompson finish 11th after a start lane violation that came following a lengthy caution.

“Any weekend that I get to go racing is special, but three races in two days here with Porsche taking over Indianapolis Motor Speedway was an experience I’ll never forget. I’m so honoured to work with the team at JDX Racing. The #9 feels like it gets faster and faster every stint,” says Thompson.

“That takes an effort that extends to each member of our group. Special thanks go to our incredible partners at Porsche Canada, Surgere, SSi Artificial Lift, Byers Porsche, and Renier Construction. We had a penalty in Race 3 that we are less than happy about, but I’m not going to let that take away from our overall performance this weekend. We put another win in the books. Now, it’s time to put our heads down and get ready for VIR.”

Up next for the speedster are two races from Oct 8-10 at Virginia International Raceway.

Thompson sits third in the standings with less than 60 points separating the top three drivers. One final race at Road Atlanta is set for Nov. 11.
