G.H. Dawe Community Centre reopens to the public
After months of closures due to the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent construction, the G.H. Dawe Community Centre reopened to the public this week.
The facility is once again offering a full complement of programming including aquatic opportunities like public swim and swimming lessons, fitness programming including registered programs and drop-in classes, preschool programming, childminding and more.
The exception is that there is currently no access to arena ice and dry-space activities as the old surface has been demolished – making way for Red Deer’s newest twin arena facility.
Barb McKee, Recreation Superintendent says, “We are very excited to open our doors and welcome our community back in to the Dawe. Months of closures have come to an end and we hope that people can take advantage of the many recreation opportunities once again.”
