A recent car wreck in central Alberta should serve as a reminder to take utmost care on the roads.

RCMP and Alberta Sheriffs members from Olds, Innisfail and Airdrie, as well as Olds Fire Department and other EMS, responded at about 6:30 p.m. on Aug. 29 to a single vehicle rollover on the QEII, south of Hwy 27 near Olds.

Crews located a heavily damaged vehicle in the median, with a 48-year-old male and 7-year-old child taken to hospital by ambulance. They had thankfully suffered only minor injuries.

Alcohol may have been a factor, according to a collision analyst. Charges are pending.

“The RCMP and Alberta Sheriffs want to remind people there is no reason to be driving if you have consumed alcohol or drugs,” a release notes.

If you have any information in relation to impaired drivers or any other criminal offences, call the Olds RCMP at 403-556-3324 or call your local police.
